What are the minimum software and hardware requirements for participating in the online survey?

Netscape 4 and above, Internet Explorer (IE) 4, or Opera 3.5 and above with JavaScript enabled are required to view the survey. There is no hardware minimum except what is required by the above browsers. It does not matter which operating system you have.

I am having trouble using the link in the e-mail invitation to open the survey.

There are several common reasons:

  • If you click on the link and nothing happens:
    • It could be that the survey was opened in a browser window that was already open but was minimised. Check the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
  • I receive an error message if I click on the link:
    • You should verify that the entire link is blue and placed on a single line in the email. Sometimes the URL is too long to be displayed on a single line, so that some codes are not passed to the survey.

It is also possible that the link is not clickable in your email program. If so, you can simply copy the URL and paste it in the address bar of your browser.

I have completed the survey and am not sure that my responses have been registered.

Responses are automatically registered after each page of the survey. If you have reached the end and have seen a thank you message, then all your responses were registered. If you received an e-mail invitation, you can again check by following the link in your e-mail invitation. You should see a message stating 'You have already taken the survey'. If this is not the case, you will automatically be redirected to the page where you stopped. You can then complete the rest of the survey.

When I click on a link in the e-mail invitation, the system starts to download a file. What is going wrong?

This can occur if your e-mail client does not recognise hyperlinks in messages. To use the link, simply copy the entire link found at the bottom of the e-mail and paste it in the address bar of your browser and press [Enter]

Why do I receive the error message “404 – Page not Found” when I take the survey?

You see this message when your Internet connection is broken or if we are experiencing an outage due to technical difficulties or maintenance. If your Internet connection is not broken then the problem is on our side. Please try again in a few minutes.

While filling in the survey the delay between pages is very long.

It is possible that our server is overloaded. Please try again in a few minutes. If you again click on the link in the e-mail invitation later you will begin where you stopped.

I stopped half way through the survey or I received an error message. What happened to my responses?

Your answers are saved after each page. If you do lose your connection while taking the survey your answers are not lost. If you again click on the link in the e-mail invitation later (while the survey is still live) you will begin where you stopped.

My question does not appear here or my problem is not resolved.

In that case please e-mail us the precise nature of the problem you are having. Include any error messages and the name and version of the browser and operating system you use.You may contact our helpdesk at support@checkmarket.com.
